Shale control agents (shale inhibitors) refer to treatment agents mainly used to inhibit the hydration, expansion, and decomposition of clay minerals contained in shale, in order to prevent well collapse.


Can be used in diamond and rotary drilling, especially for no effect of potassium chloride

Can be well suited to low-solids, non-dispersed drilling mud systems
Control the dispersive tendency of mudstones and shales
Designed to work with PAC for a low viscosity drilling fluid that provides hole stability in shear zones
